Cheyanne Cookson Song had used Gallimard to get government information by pretending to be the "perfect woman". M. Butterfly is a play by David Henry Hwang that loosely tied in with a true event about a man falling in love with an oriental opera singer. Finding an opportunity to help her country Song uses the man, Gallimard who works for the government, to find out classified information. I do think that Gallimard was the victim in the play because Song uses him for information, lets him go to jail for leaking this information, and in the end he is so obsessed with the thought of Butterfly he kills himself. Through the play Song was using Gallimard to spy on the Goverments plans to do with China. Gallimard never asked what she
