In the first place, when it comes to taking tests or just doing an ordinary assignment, in class, some students do not feel comfortable. That number needs to be way lower. 88 percent of students believe “failure on the assignment was a reasonable sanction for a violation of the honor code” (Source E). Students know that honor codes need to be revised and enforced but since no one does anything students just choose the easy route. Most professors have a couple of students they would like the Honor Committee to investigate, but Lou Bloomfield “handed over a list of more than a 100 students” (Source D). Only 8 percent of students “would report a fellow student for cheating” (Source E). If students can not enforce the honor codes, then administrators and teachers need to step in and find a way where they can make sure no one is cheating. Bloomfield states “Plagiarism is more common now… it is just easier to do”(Source D) if students can find a more relaxed stress-free way to do work they will do that. Schools should revise honor code policies because they simply are not enforced enough, many students can quickly fly through high school. The only way honor codes can work is if they are enforced and if everyone works together to create a safe learning
