According to Webster’s dictionary euthanasia is the act or practice of killing someone who is very sick or injured in order to prevent any more suffering. The question is, is euthanasia morally permitted? Timothy Quill, Stewart King, and Callahan all touch upon self determination when an individual is facing a painful life of suffering. In Timothy Quill’s article, Death and Dignity: A Case Of Individualized Decision Making, his patient Diane has leukemia. The type of treatment she would have to undergo to have a chance at living was only a 25% success rate. Diane had made it clear to her family and Quill that she didn’t want to suffer through treatment, she wanted to live however much time she had left outside of a hospital. Quill had her
