It definitely has made Death Note more interesting than it was before. The original version is Light is Kira and L is the detective trying to find evidence that Light is Kira (Ohba 78). I changed this to L being Kira and Light just being his boyfriend who is helping him on the case because I thought it would be interesting if L was the greatest detective in the world and also Kira. The reader will be able to see the story coming from a different person’s point of view. Another aspect that makes it interesting like I intended for the remix to be is that L will still be accusing Light of being Kira even though they are dating. This change allows the story to go in a different direction. The direction it can go in is L the greatest detective in the world will be “investigating” Kira even though he is Kira. The feeling that one is doing justice is more important than love. The reason for their being no second Kira even though the original version has one is that it seems like there is no point in having a second Kira. There should always have been just one Kira in my opinion. The reason for Ryuk not being in the story anymore is having two shinigami is too much. There should only have been one and Ryuk isn’t even a nice shinigami. Rem is the better choice for someone to have as a shinigami. Misa’s change in character from being a crazy fan of Kira and Light’s girlfriend to being Light and L’s friend is so there is no jealously in the story. The point of Death Note isn’t supposed to be about romance. The reason for L to become Kira is different from Light’s. This change was made so L would have his own back story in what led him to become Kira. In the original version there is only the death note. I changed this to their being also a death note eraser because I wanted to bring back the item Tsugumi Ohba left out when he published Death Note. The change of having a death note eraser in the story has strengthened this project. The
