The declaration of independence and bill of rights are two of the longest lasting documents in the U.S. three of the more significant amendments are the 2nd, 3rd, 6th. The declaration of independence states that “he has affected to render the military independent of and superior to the civil power” the direct result of this grievance is the second amendment which allows you to keep and bear arms and a free state should have a well maintained militia so that we will not have someone superior to us again and we can protect our free state.
