On July 4, 1776 one of the most memorable documents of History was created. The Declaration of Independence was written by the youngest member of Congress, Thomas Jefferson. Opening with the Preamble, Jefferson discusses how the colonies desire to be free from Great Britain’s thrown. The thirteen colonies were completely fed up with how they were being treated by Great Britain. By creating this the colonies were declaring themselves independent from Great Britain.
Jefferson makes a strong opening by stating all men are created equal and deserve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is then also stated that if any government becomes destructive that the people own the right to alter, abolish, or create a new government all together.
