Alcohol has taken the lives of many young adults in order to stop this chain reaction from occurring once again with new generation there needs to be a change. Young adults under the age of 21 drink now because it is illegal and it is what causes them to do many regrettable things, knowing that they will be going against authority. “Drinking incidents generate vital questions about lowering the drinking age, I feel it would be the best solution to solving the underground drinking problem, it would allow for drinking to be more open. Having the drinking age at 21 allows there to be more difficulty in keeping track of the kids who use it because they do it secretly and tend to abuse it more. If the drinking age was to be lowered across the world, I think there would less rampage drinking amongst the teens and would allow the elders to have more control over the consumption of alcohol.” I do believe in responsibility so on every teen identification card is a bar code where the alcohol store can scan to see if the teen has a record of not being responsible in any case in the result of having them wait until their 21 to drink. “Drinking at any age under 18 should not be allowed, but once you turn 18 you should be allowed to drink legally. When one turns 18 they assume adult penalties, are they not allowed voting, dying for our country and even getting married? So why can’t they enjoy a few beers legally? Something drastic needs to be changed in order to stop this problem. Yeah, this might have been the best problem solver for that time but it is not solving any problems now.” Many things have changed, so they should make another change by allowing it to be legal to drink when one is 18. “Children now are being more educated on alcohol and the effects of it, and it is being approached as a serious problem in our young adults. The whole view of drinking is being looked upon deeper and being explained and taught more then it has ever been done in ways like; driving under the Influence, binge drinking, and alcohol poisoning. These steps are being taken to change the way people view driving. I think that if drinking could be looked at upon as not always bad but ok as well. It is ok to drink in a social aspect. The people that misuse their ability to drink by binge drinking are those who make drinking look so bad.”
As I was researching the pros and cons of lowering the drinking age, I saw the benefits far outweighed the liabilities. “The main reason people do
