In order to dwell in this great country and consider this their home, one must be considered to be American. The question that lies or floats to the surface would be “What is an American and what are the qualifications?”. Per the assignment handout the word ‘american’ is defined as, according to Define American, “an american is an immigrant, living in the United States of America; someone who calls this country “home” based on his/her political, economic, social, and cultural idea and affiliations For those of us blessed enough to be naturally born here, we are already rightful citizens. If they are willing to coexist in the land that their ancestors rightfully claimed for themselves and generations to come, then all other ethnicities are more than capable to follow suit. This means, immigrants should be granted the ability to enter this country and live just as we do, as long as this great nations best interest is within their hearts. Immigrants should be factored into the definition “American”, after all how would we be considered “the melting pot” if other cultures and races never coexisted with one another?
Who are we to say who can and who can not enter this country? As reviously stated, this is not our land to dictate upon. If the immigrant poses no possible threat to our society, why should we not allow them
