Hero Essay By Adwait Dubey “Heroes may not be braver than anyone else. They’re just five minutes longer.” – Ronald Reagan, Eulogy for Unknown Soldiers (1984). What do you think defines a hero? Well, my definition of a hero is a brave, committed, and helpful person. In my opinion, heroes don’t have to be Iron Man or Superman with all their superpowers, they just need to have a strong mindset.

A heroic word I think is important is brave. On slide 5 of “Heroes I believe” they say “They stand up for the small, skinny boy that likes to read more than the average high-schooler, because they’ve been where he is, and they know what it feels like to be alone.” That shows that heroes are brave because they have the bravery to actually stand up for people in which they know they might also get bullied or even get physically hurt. Another piece of evidence to support my topic is in “A school girl’s diary” page 107, paragraph 54, when Malala voices, “I wasn’t going to cower in fear of Fazlullah’s wrath. I would obey the instructions about the uniform, but that day I chose my brightest pink shalwar kamiz”. That proves my topic sentence because before, Malala and all the other girls in her town were not able to go to school and the people living there told the girls to wear their everyday clothes, but Malala Yousafzai became brave and wore a shiny shalwar kamiz.
