In an article it revealed that, “About 420 the sanctuary of Eleusis proclaimed its title to collect first fruit offerings for the corn goddess Demeter throughout Greece.” The quotation is explaining how important Demeter was to the first fruit offering cultic practice. While other gods and goddess were once mentioned during this cultic practice Eleusis realized Demeter was the main Goddess this first fruit offering was for and wisely changed the cultic practice to worship only her. Therefore, myth and cultic practice were intertwined in the first fruit offering for the people in ancient Greece. Moreover, the Thesmophoria told the ways in which women were expected to act in social life usually by having the women do the opposite. To start, women in ancient Greece had no part in the religio-political association. The only exception is the Thesmophoria. In the Thesmophoria women were able to gain a new
