My 3 scenes that show it is hard for Edward to fit in (the theme).

Makeup and dressing scene: : Peg is trying to cover up Edwards scar because she thinks it will make him more acceptable to the public, the makeup was not working well, this was when Peg used the quote “blending is the secret.” Although for Edward it is impossible to cover up or change Edwards identity because he is so different. People just need to accept Edward the way that he is and stop trying to change him.

When Peg brought Edward into her home the first thing she did was gave him some of Bill clothes, which she thought would help Edward to fit in. However Edward struggled to get dressed which showed that fitting into to Bill’s clothes would be just as hard as fitting into the neighbourhood.

Dinner scene:

Barbeque scene: shows that making friends and fitting in is difficult for Edward as he has been locked away from everyone for so long. Its overwhelming.
