When I was nine years old, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, causing me to miss the majority of my fourth-grade year due to excruciating pain. I was in and out of the doctor’s office, with help from countless doctors and nurses. This unpleasant experience led me to seek a job where I could help people in some shape or form. However, being a doctor or nurse never piqued my interest, however for a short time I wanted to be a radiologist, but that dream vanished shortly after. As I matured into my high school years, I began exploring my career options more in-depth. After talking with family and friends, I became passionate about becoming a dental hygienist.
