The word depredation is defined as the act of preying upon or plundering, in other words, to take from something or someone as many men and women do every day. More specifically I am talking about domestic violence and sexual assault. This poem comes from my heart and inspiration from my previous position as a sexual assault victim advocate for armed service members. Today, a friend of mine moved to the Dallas area and as a psychology therapist she was looking into domestic violence organizations in the area but was not able to find one in her minor research, which deeply inspired me to write this piece.
