Derrick Jackley’s autobiography in english I can not say that I am a very literate person because I use simple words instead of big words or words that I never hear anybody else say commonly. In my family, literacy is not really discussed because we do not really think of it if any at all. I do not like to read novels, but I do like to read magazines about things like vehicles or video games. When I was younger I did not like to read anything at all, but now I am more lenient with what I read. There are not many books or writers that influenced into reading or writing. I do not write much unless it is for an essay, but some weaknesses that I have is that I am not good at knowing how to start writing about what I am writing about. Some strengths that I have is that once I am writing an essay I can start coming up with ideas and I can keep writing until I am done. I like to read stories if it is not for school because then I will not have to write an essay or do an assignment over the book or magazine that I read. I do not like to read something if it is an assignment in class because then it is something I have to do versus if I would choose what I read. Some strengths I have is that sometimes once I start an essay or anything like an essay I can usually come up with ideas as I am going along with the essay. It is hard for me to start writing essays but once I have started an essay I can usually keep coming up with ideas to add more to my essay. Another weakness that I have is that when I do write an essay, the essay does not turn out to be a good essay unless I have help by asking other people to read it for me. I work on my weaknesses in writing and reading and I think that I am getting better as I go along with my reading and
