Philosophy is self-sufficient, self-dependent
It encompasses all sciences - which in turn encompasses all Mathematics.
Out of all sciences, Mathematics provides sure, indubitable knowledge.

There is additivity in the condition stipulated -> 1+1 = 2
He asked the class if anybody disagreed to this solution.
He explained that math deals with "mental objects" in the mind.
Therefore, 2 is simply an object or a notion/concept.

Descartes believed:
All knowledge is INNATE - it's already there. (He gave the example of an isosceles triangle)
There is also no "measure" in the real world. Humans have simply made up the idea of measurements.
