In this case there is very little evidence against McMillian. Authorities only have one solid piece of evidence, that may not even have anything to do with the case. The evidence is that he was involved in an affair with a white woman. Since McMillan is an African American man, this interracial affair is seen worse than a typical affair. In result of his relations with the white woman people see him as “reckless and possibly dangerous”. During this time period Caucasians were seen as superior. African Americans were inferior and almost always separated from Caucasians. When African Americans were in a relationship of any kind with a Caucasian, it was seen as a terrible deed.
