Diaghilev proceeded to bring her to Paris, and her first performance was in 1909. Anna was promoted to ballerina in 1905, and Prima Ballerina in 1906. Up until her death, he remained her favorite teacher and mentor. Mikhail Fokine choreographed "The Dying Swan" for Pavlova, which she became famous and internationally known for. The Baby Ballerinas were 3 young leading principal dancers of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in the 1930s. After Diaghilev's death in 1929, the company began to dissolve. The property was eventually claimed by creditors. The dancers were scattered. The future was now uncertain for the dissolved Ballet Russes. Colonel Wassily de Basil and his associate René Blum revived the company but Col. de Basil and Rene Blum argued s much, so Blum went ahead to find his new company.
