My topic is Dian Fossey and her stand against gorilla poachers in Africa. She was researching gorillas in Africa when she fell in love with them. She was fiercely protective of them and she stood up against poachers by dismantling traps, fighting them, and continuing the research that put her in danger. In December of 1985, Dian Fossey was brutally murdered with a poacher's macete. While her murder remains unsolved, we have been lead to believe that she was killed by poachers for standing up against them.
