Certain words and phrases are used in Diane Glancy’s poem, “Without Title”, to convey a theme about how your culture gives you strength. In the poem the author demonstrates how important their culture is to them, in the poem it says, “It’s hard you know without the buffalo, the shaman, the arrow, but my father went out each day to hunt as though he had them.” This reveals that even though he didn’t have his culture with him no more he tried to live as if he still had his culture with him. This evidence indicates that he misses his culture and traditions but he had to leave everything behind to have a better life apart from that his culture will always be with him.
