By the Enlightenment and America and French Revolution, they inspired people in Latin America to fight for independence. José de San Martín went back to his hometown from Spain and joined the Patriot to fight independent for Argentina. Patriot was the side that support independence and fight with the Royalists, who was royal in Spain. In order to join military, José de San Martín brought independent to Argentina. There were some difficulties he had to face. Crossing Andes to help Chile was one of the challenges José de San Martín had to face. When he formed the Army of the Andes, there were lots of people.
