Dietary intake can be measured to evaluate the assessment of nutrient in individual's diet. Dietary assessment can provide information including energy intake, food and eating habits. The aim of this research is to study the common four assessment methods. Methods of dietary assessment are twenty-four hour recall, Food Frequency Questionire (FFQ). Food records, and dietary history.

The first method is 24-hour recall which involve questions about the last tweny-hour meals. In this method dietitan will ask patient remember all foods and beverages during last 24hours. In this method the patient can easily recall accuraate detailed report (why?) because he\she can remember easily the source of food and the portion size. 24HR just require 20-60 minutes to be completed. The method is inexpensive, and quick. Also it can applied both face-to-face and over the phone.

Another method is Food Frequency Questionire (FFQ) which obtain frequency consumption of items at specific period (months or year). FFQ shows how often each item consumed over period of time. So it calculate the micronutrient intake in usual diet of individual. Additionally FFQ collect the use of dietary supplement (for example, vitamins and iron supplements). Food Records is dietary method that consist of detailed information about consumed food and beverages at one or more days. Food Records is also known as Food Dairy and self-reported. Each day it takes around 15 minutes to be completed. As FFQ, Food records must contain dietary supplements when taken in recorded day. This instrument is open-ended ,so the recorder has no limit number of items. Food Records will have limit quality of data with increased number of days reported.
