The Corps of Discovery faced many challenges during their journey, three main ones are going up river, winter and mountains. Louis and Clark were explorers of the west. They were trying to find the Northwest Passage. Instead they found the mouth of the Missouri River. One of the Corps of discovery's biggest challenges was going up river. They ran onto sandbars and had to drag their boat. Also they were constantly running into pieces of wood. However the quickly adapted to the river and started pulling the boat up river by a rope. Although, going up river was hard they had a bigger challenges up north. When Louis and Clark reached present day
