Emily C.: I don't know what diffusionism is. If I had to guess, I'd say it has to do with how culture spreads from one person to many people around them. Like if one person follows a different culture than those around them, other people would probably be interested in it.

For example, I see a lot of Japanese culture being integrated into American culture as animes are gaining popularity among my generation. Outside of the internet and media, I've seen elements of culture spread from family to family. I live in a town that is very diverse, culture-wise, so I've met people from many different cultures. The first example of this that comes to mind for me is food. My family is American, but we cook Swedish pancakes, British toad-in-the-hole, Mexican fajitas, German Brotchen, Asian-inspired crab cakes, and Korean mandu. These foods from other cultures have spread to us via people who immigrated here from other countries.
Without diffusionism how do you think our society today would be like?
Emily C.:I think our society today would be pretty dull without diffusionism. It's hard to imagine America without the influence of other countries and cultures. Technically, it wouldn't exist at all, since America was settled by lots of different cultures coming together - which we still see today. New York is a good example of how people of different cultural backgrounds blend together to create a diverse but unified community.
Sar O.:Without diffusionism, I feel like our society will be plain and boring. we wouldn't be able to understand the world and how it works. Even with diffusionism, we still haven't figured out what we should be doing. We wouldn't be able to see other the amazing things that other culture
