In the article “Digital Diet” the author states that kids use technology too much and rely on phones to entertain them. The author describes how kids use their phones for entertainment and everything else they do. Paragraph 1 states all the bad results kids get when they don’t go outside and stay on screens, they get less sleep, they spend less time outside, and they develop a short attention span. In other words, kids do less of what they need to do just for some time on a phone, TV, Xbox, and other gaming devices, even though they need to do all this to stay healthy. If you ask a kid if they would play NBA2k or just play real basketball half will probably say the video game. In addition, over 90% of kids over 2 years old play video games, so that means along with 10-year-olds and over, kids that probably aren't even old enough to play video games play them Here is the thing, kids are fine playing video games but on average kids play video games or use screens for about 6 HOURS and 58 MINUTES a day. So while half of the world is outside, the others are playing video games for half of the day. While kids use their phones, their parents have to worry about what they are playing or watching because some kids use their phones for bad things like watching inappropriate videos, or learning how to hack a computer, this shows how parents have things they don’t like about phones. While some kids play on it for half a day, some kids set timers so they know when to stop and take a break, and some kids set timers for 1 hour so they can play, read for 1 hour, and then start playing their game again and relax.
