Another thing that I did not appreciate until I moved was the advantages of living in a house that was mostly tension-free. Being in a house where it feel like an argument is always a “pin-drop” away can be extremely stressful. The thing I not only appreciated, but missed most of all was the feeling of having a family unit. While living with my dad was not entirely bad, it never felt like we were a family. It always felt like I was only a visitor for an extended period of time. Moving away can also teach individuals important life lessons.
