Since the 1970s, the forces of globalisation have amplified in rate and power. Hence, substantial influences on nationwide urban arrangements and intra-urban constructions have been generated. The magnification of globalisation shaping the last four decades, has seen an abandonment of or decrease in importance of differing national prerequisites. These include dependence on tariffs, minimum wages, and the White Australia policy. Australia’s cities, in particular Sydney, refused to be moulded by these “building blocks” of federation any longer, and so in place, have been shaped by the new globalisation of the post-Fordist era.
