Types Of Asthma & Its Etiology * Allergic Asthma: If you have allergic asthma, your airways are hypersensitive to the allergens to which you've become sensitized. Once these allergens get into your airways, your immune system overreacts. * Exercised Induced Asthma: During normal breathing, the air we take in is first warmed and moistened by the nasal passages. Because people tend to breathe through their mouths when they exercise, they are inhaling colder and drier air. * Cough Variant Asthma: Cough-variant asthma is sometimes called chronic cough to describe a cough that has lasted longer than six to eight weeks. The coughing with asthma can occur during the day or at night. * Occupational Asthma: is a lung disorder in which substances found in the workplace cause the airways of the lungs to swell and narrow, leading to attacks of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. * Nocturnal Asthma: The chances of experiencing asthma symptoms are higher during sleep. Nocturnal wheezing, cough, and trouble breathing are common yet potentially dangerous. * Health Conditions That Mimic Asthma: Some health conditions that mimic asthma are; sinusitis, myocardial ischemia, gastro esophageal reflux disease, angina, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, congestive heart failure, and bronchiectasis.
