As part of the effort to bring awareness and sensitivity to the issue of diversity Hofstra hosted a conversation to invite students to share their concerns and observations. The dialogued provoked a lot of interesting questions and points of view for the university to consider. The main topic of discussion largely centered around the fact that not only do the students feel that the diversity among students is low but that there is also little representation among the professors. The reason for which is because we are just now arriving at an age where minorities have more access to an education that would allow them to attain such a position within the institution.
