In the 1920s, Americans were divided by many things that influenced politics and that still impact the US today. One of the major dividers at the time was gender, women had just gained the right to vote and had begun pushing for legislature to pass legislation that would support many things that mostly applied to women. These legislatures included the successful Maternity and Infancy Act and the questionable Equal Rights Act, because it opposed regulations for respect in the workplace.
