Good morning Mr. Milheiro and class, today ill be discussing aspects of the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ and how it affects the lives of adherents.

What is the divinity and humanity of Christ?

John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:14, "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us…”
The humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ refers to both Jesus’ vulnerability as a human, and the idea that he is the same matter as God, therefore divine. Jesus slept, drank, ate and felt emotion just like any other human but his role on earth was to be salvation, to be capable of miracles and defeating death, to rescue the people from sin and to deliver them to the Lord.

The greatly debated argument of whether he was truly divine or just a human was brought to attention in 325 CE by the council of Nicea. Although today not all believe in their conclusion, they decided that Jesus was simultaneously both human and divine. Jesus had the limitations and the normal experiences of a human, yet he was divine, with the power to conduct miracles and to resurrect from the dead. There is a very close relationship between the eucharist and Christ’s divinity and humanity, both of which existing within him. After the consecration a link exists between the bread and wine and the body and blood, which in turn corresponds with the divinity of Christ. The bread and wine are not just metaphors for the blood and body of Christ but instead intended to be a real manifestation of both the natures. This is seen through the human qualities within the ‘flesh and blood’ and the spiritual and divine nature it
