I had the pleasure to interview two remarkable doctors that I have known for a long time. They were both equally pleased to give me their opinions on the current issues related to health care. Health care is a dynamic industry. It is constantly evolving and changing in ways that continue to benefit us. Interviewing two doctors with different backgrounds and specialties has helped me to get a better view and understanding of healthcare from their individual perspectives. For my interviews, I chose Dr. Surendra Sugrim and Dr. Harry Koster. Both physicians are highly experienced in their specified fields. Dr. Sugrim specializes in family medicine in the South Richmond Hill area of Queens. He has accumulated over 15 years of experience in the field of medicine. When asked why he chose this specialty, Dr. Sugrim stated that “most of my mentors were family physicians. I looked up to them practically my entire life. I always knew I would do primary care. He knew the path he wanted and pursued it which led to him finding his perfect fit in the healthcare field. Dr. Sugrim graduated from the University of Guyana in Georgetown, Guyana in the year 2002 and moved here to complete his residency in Brooklyn Hospital Center here in the United States. Dr. Sugrim currently owns his own private practice in Queens. Dr. Koster specializes in Ophthalmology as well as general surgery and has accumulated over 30 years of experience in both fields. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Columbia College and shortly after received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Texas. Dr. Koster then returned to Manhattan and interned at New York Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital where he began his
