This case originated in Cleveland, Ohio when police officers entered the home of Dollree Mapp’s house. The main cause of this case was that the police officers did not have a proper search warrant. The police thought she was harboring a bomb suspect but when they entered the house there was no suspect. What they found instead was obscene pictures, they arrested her and she argued about the police entering her house without a proper search warrant. The court agreed it was wrong and voted in her favor.
