It has one of the most geographically diverse areas in the Caribbean, including the tallest mountain (of that region), along with long stretches of sandy beaches. Most tourists are from the U.S., Canada, and Germany. They come for the choice accommodations in the cities, the mountains, and the richness of the coastal shorebirds.
