Dorothy Vaughan did many commendable things in her life. She helped America gain strength again in the time of depression. She was one of the very courageous strong woman behind Nasa's great accomplishments.
Dorothy Vaughan was born on September 20, 1910, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her parents were Leonard and Anne Johnston. In 1917 Dorothy and her Parents moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Morgantown, West Virginia when she was seven years old.
Dorothy attended Beechurst High School and received excellent grades. Dorothy Vaughan graduated as valedictorian of her class, in 1925. Dorothy attended Wilberforce University in Ohio. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science, in 1929.
