Less than two hours after the alleged rape, Doctor R. R. Bridges, a Scottsboro doctor, examined the girls, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. He stood for the defense and held vital and important information during Haywood Patterson’s second trial on March 30, 1933. Doctor R. R. Bridges confirmed that “semen was found in the vaginas of the two girls,” showed that “the girls were both calm, composed, and free of bleeding and vaginal damage,” and revealed that “the semen that [he] examined
