What are the Doulas? The process of becoming a mother has often been portrayed as a beautiful and magical experience in movies, television, and even social media. Often enough, the daunting parts of motherhood and childbirth are overshadowed by the rosiness of bringing life unto the world. It is nearly impossible for mothers to learn everything they possibly can about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care for themselves and their newborn. This is where doulas’ come in and provide knowledge, care, resources, and anything a mother may possibly need during her pregnancy, childbirth, and even months after. Ancient Song Doula Services primary focus is typically women of color in low-income families, however they provide support and care for any and all families who seek them out. Since doulas are unable to accept insurance, families would have to pay out of pocket for the services. For those who are able to fully afford the fee, a portion of their payment gets allocated to the mothers who are unable to pay.
