WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY TREATMENT?
Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician and the Father of Medicine opined a holistic approach in treating illnesses. He advocated a thorough study of the patient also when studying the illness and insisted upon doing everything to assist Nature in effecting the cure. He advocated similimum. In the context of homeopathy this means that the remedy indicated in a certain case if given to a healthy person, will produce the symptoms complex and almost nearly approaching that of the disease in question.

Dr Christian Frederick Samuel Hahnemann a German physician of the 18th century concerned about the findings of those days; that the decoction of cinchona barks (used in relieving symptoms of malaria) when administered to healthy persons causes intermittent fever in them, decided to subject himself to a self experimentation. His findings proved right and encouraged him to lay the foundation of a new system of medicine which we know as homoeopathy today.

To reinforce his ideas and beliefs, Dr Hahnemann continued subjecting himself and other willing volunteers to further experiments. Assiduously noting the findings, he observed that every substance consumed by them produced significantly distinct symptoms and no two substances produced the same set of symptoms. Each substance precipitated its unique pattern of

To avoid their pernicious effects he diluted each medicine until he attained the greatest dilution that would still produce a response. Called ‘Provings’, these experiments led him to observe and describe the basic principles of homoeopathic medicine. As one can observe there lies a similarity of basic concepts of homoeopathy for curing diseases with the statement of Hippocrates. Considered the Father of Homeopathy, Dr Hahnemann is also credited with coining the term
