The book Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a very interesting book. The idea to create the book was because of a nightmare. In the novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson uses imagery, diction, and details to create a mysterious mood. Stephenson uses imagery in many ways to create a mysterious mood. One piece of evidence from the book of imagery is, “... and all as empty as a church.” (p.49) Churches are usually empty and if someone walks into a church or any room that is empty, it is mysterious because they don’t know what could be in the room.
