This project has deepened my understanding over all the examples of the humanities, but I would like to start with the Sustainable home. At the beginning of this project I did not know anything about a sustainable home or building. After researching respect I came across environment and I immediately thought of climate change, and ways to stop it. This brought me to the “Green” home. Many schools have installed solar panels, or increased recycling and this is very important because this is in the future of our generation and the generations to come. The other example of the humanities under the virtue of respect, Is the song Respect by Aretha Franklin. I remembered this song from when I was in elementary school, but after doing this project it is nothing like it meant to me back then. Back then I did not realize the meaning of the song and why it was created. Now I know that this song was written during the civil rights movement and explained to the public the US needs to change. …show more content…
Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil right movement,which ties into another virtue, Justice. From this project I learned that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not only brought equality to the United States, but started a world revolution for freedom. Freedom from judgment just because of the color of a person's skin. Even though racism is not completely gone, it sure is a lot better than it was before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. seeked justice for his race in the 60’s.
Justice reminded me of the Justice scale which before this project I had no idea the meaning behind the justice scale. I now understand that the justice scale is from the Roman Goddess Lady Justice. In the sculptures of Lady Justice she is pictured blindfolded to show that when making a decision wealth, fame, or power should not pole in the final decision. Without this project I would have never known about Lady Justice and the meaning behind the justice
