Implementing MRP system in Climax

MPR system tries to categorize and organize all steps of production. It controls the inventory while processes the BOM and even schedules each step of the plan at an elementary level. Climax needs to know what item they need to purchase, while taking into account the time it takes for the required materials to get to the company and whether or not the output has the desirable quality for both the customer and the company, failing to plan these could cause certain, to times even irreversible, consequences.
By over ordering a certain item, the exceeding numbers is considered as a liability to the factory. On the other hand, by under ordering a certain item or even by ordering a wrong item the demands might not be met and the timing gets completely overrun. Also by not considering the contractual deadliness and starting the production within a desired window, the customer lead time might get past as well. MPR offers solution as to ‘HOW MANY’ and ‘WHAT’ exact times are to be supplied and ‘WHEN’ should these be available while filing inside or outside suppliers and sub-assemblies take part into creating simple or complex items.The data offered by MPR must look up to certain questions; ‘How long is our window of opportunity to output the product?’ and ‘What is the shelf life of our stored materials?’ While meticulously taking notes in data collection, MPR also records the inventory status. Data planning includes, Routing, Labor and Machine Standards, Quality and Testing Standards, Pull/Work Cell and Push commands, Lot sizing techniques (i.e. Fixed Lot Size, Lot-For-Lot, and Economic Order Quantity), Scrap Percentages, and other inputs. In terms of output, Recommended Production Schedule details the minimum start and end dates, respecting Routing and BOM demands from Master Production Schedule (MPS), while Recommended Purchasing Schedule looks deeper into what needs to be purchased for the company while collecting data on purchase orders or if the release matches the deadlines uses Blanket Order Release.
