I have chosen to use Dr. Horrible as my topic to focus on the stages of life. Despite the fact that Dr. Horrible seeks to be a certain fearless person or want to look like that. However Dr. Horrible can't get the nerve up to converse with Penny, the lady he had always wanted. Unlike Captain Hammer is able to talk to women but not interested in taking it to the next level of relationship like many women do in stage of Adulthood. Captain Hammer is a good example of one of Adulthood Stage (generosity vs. self-absorption) because he is self-absorbed and seems only interested in himself. Too much of self-absorption can prompt reject and a disappointment to feel any feeling of importance.

On the other hand, Dr. Horrible seems to be in different stages of life. Dr. Horrible is in stage Identity vs. Role Confusion. Since Dr. Horrible seem to not be able to approach to Penny it would because of role confusion a pre-adult may start to try different things with distinctive ways of life (e.g. work, training or political exercises). Likewise influencing somebody into a personality can bring about defiance as creating a contrary character, and notwithstanding this sentiments of misery. His identity stage is a problem for intimacy because he does not feel comfortable being outside of his zone which is socializing with the girl he likes.
