My future career goal is to become a dramaturg. A dramaturg is someone who is involved in a theatrical production and will do research for the different people within a production team. This for could vary from discovering cultural expectations of a different century and country, or gathering background information about the author of the play to see what events influenced their writing. Ultimately, the goal of the dramaturg’s goal is to strengthen the production overall by helping make decisions more concrete with the research given.
Although this career requires at least a Masters’ of Fine Arts in Dramaturgy, I have decided to remain a History major through the entirety of my college career. I decided to do this for a few different reasons.
