As a noncommissioned Officer in the United States Army it is important for you to live the Army Values and always lead from the front. When I went to basic training back in the early 90’s I was so impressed by my Drill Sergeants mental and physical strength. They would speak and it was like gospel coming from the good book. If Drill Sergeant Harrington or Drill Sergeant Craig said something our response was YES drill sergeant. If one of them had told us to run through that wall, we would have done it. One of the most powerful things said by Drill Sergeant Harrington was “Make sure you make the Army Values a part of your daily life, and pay attention to your leaders because they will show you the right things to do but they will also show you the wrong thing to do.” That really stuck with me. I believe it is vitally important to watch your leaders in everything they do because people will show you their true character over time. …show more content…
We need to ingrain in our young Soldiers as Colin Powell stated: There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. Understand that Failure is not an option and history is told by the successors.

I have seven core attributes that should will be the cornerstone of this Corp of Noncommissioned Officers:

Mission First: defied as a strongly felt aim, ambition or calling. Soldiers of the United States of America have the honor to call this country home, the best country in the world and we must defend it until our last breath. Understanding the mission is what we are here for. Some are Infantrymen, truck drivers, nurses, doctors and human resources experts. We all have a stake in the fight.

Family: We are not just any organization of highly training Soldiers, we are brothers and sisters in arms with a long history of fight side by side and willing to give our lives for one
