Many hail drug court a triumphant success, as it ends alcohol and drug addiction, and offenders graduate to an utopian world of bliss and happiness. I consider this jabberwocky as balderdash and bunkum as I have witnessed the systems manifest failures.
Drug court is a tool utilized by prosecutors and defense attorneys as a medium to expedient plea bargains. Utilization of plea bargains expedites a case to adjudication and/or diversion to drug court, thereby, disposing of the case provides the prosecutor and defense attorney an opportunity to focus on additional cases.
