Drug Testing Student Athletes Drug testing students athlete will not only help the the student but in will also help the school look better.Doing a drug test on all students athletes or at least most of them will be a good idea because it could help the students with there own life, the drug could also give them them an unfair advantage, all athletes whose test come back positive then the school should handle the situation. If the school really cared about the students like they say they do then they should drug test all athletes. It is a proven fact that kids can get addicted to some type of drug while they are in high school. Tanenbaum explains: Of the 76 percent of high school students who have used tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, or cocaine, one in five meet the medical criteria for addiction. That number is particularly troubling considering that the younger the brain, the greater the risk of moving from drug use to drug addiction.
