Suddenly, a drunk teenage driver smashed into their car. After recovering from the shock of the incident, Chris looked to the side to see his pregnant wife’s chest rise and fall with her last breath. He looked into the back seat to see his son’s head bashed in and his daughter’s body lifeless. In a split second of time, Chris’s family was torn apart. Four members of his family were gone. Meanwhile, the drunk driver walked away, leaving the family without aid.
There was also the story of Chris Cannon. Chris and his fiancée were driving on the freeway. Suddenly, a car came from the on-ramp and crashed into their car. His fiancée sat on the road, covered in glass and blood. As she was taken to the hospital, she had no idea of knowing if Chris was okay or not. It was not until she sat in her hospital room when an officer revealed to her the awful truth: Chris had been killed by a drunk driver. Instead of being safe at
home with her future husband, she sat in a hospital room with her life destroyed thanks to the actions of a single drunk driver.
Drunk driving does not only affect the people who the drunk driver hits, but it also affects those who get in the car with them. Robert Thomas Rees had been taught by his parents to
