Being the first born in this household, T.R. expressed that she wanted as many resources about H.R. growth and development. Starting off, we discussed 4 month old physical and motor skills, sensory and cognitive skills, and play. On these lists were having no head droop while in a sitting positon, sitting straight if propped up, being able to put things in mouth, sleep 9-10 hours at night with two naps.(Fiegleman, 2011). Some of the sensory and cognitive skills discussed were increased eye contact with parents, demanding attention by fussing, and be able to laugh out loud. (Fiegleman, 2011). One of the activities that took place, was assessing H.R’s current growth and development. Discussion about play that would help growth and development included placing the baby in front of the mirror, repeating sounds the baby makes, helping the baby roll over, and tummy time. (Fiegleman, 2011) T.R was also given information about 6 month, and 9 month growth and development, along with reputable sites for her own research.
