Research shows that teacher absenteeism is one of the most important school based detriments to the academic success rates of students today. If I could change one policy, this would be it. I think that incorporating incentives for teacher attendance would add significant change in regards to how teachers abuse absenteeism annually. Another change I would incorporate is to make more FINS referrals at the lower K-4 level. I have witnessed this abuse for too many years. Parents and caregivers need to be accountable for students attending school. Administration must take measures to secure educational success for their students, even if it involves exercising negative consequences for those at
