This article discusses many different aspects when it comes to the arts in early childhood settings. The main aspects that are focused on include what participation in the arts looks like and how the arts are related to social-emotional development. All of these aspects allow the reader to gain a better understanding of what, how, and why the arts are so important in early childhood settings. To begin participation of the arts, include the typical thinks that come to mind when you think of the arts, such as dancing, acting, music and crafts. Each of these kinds of art have been demonstrated in a majority of the early childhood settings I have been able to observe in both in Italy and the United States. Throughout this article there were many different results from an abundance of studies that provide how the arts benefit children both with social skills and emotional regulation. What was must surprising about these results were that some of them focused on children even in their first year of life. The arts benefit children socially only when they are interacting with the arts with another person. This is a very important part to remember since the arts bring people together even at such a young age. When it comes to how the arts help children regulate their emotions, I was not surprised. Music and other forms of art have been proven to be stress relievers. This article proves this idea as well as how the arts all children to express themselves better through the results they included in this section. Just reading this section proved to me that the arts have so many more effects on a child other than just letting them be creative. This is why I think as teachers it is so important to promote the arts and provide parents with knowledge about the arts so they can also see the great results at
