Abstract: The Eastern Gray Squirrel is the most common squirrel that is found in and around Florida. According to research, (NSIS, 2015) the Eastern Gray Squirrel nests in the hollow parts of the trees or in nests that they make from leaves up in the treetops. It does the majority of its foraging during the day, usually in the early morning and late afternoon. It travels both on the ground and through the trees. Researchers have seen that squirrels will always be found near or around oak trees because of the acorns. For this experiment the Eastern Gray Squirrel will be watched and studied to see if there is more squirrel activity found in oak trees rather than pine trees. The Hypothesis is: There is more squirrel activity in oaks trees rather than pine trees.
